The Place Where We Lived available on vinyl & CBC Session!

As of June 11th, the vinyl version of The Place Where We Lived began to be available in most of your favourite indie record stores in Canada and the US. (Stores can order the album for you through Outside Music in Canada, and Junketboy in the US.)
Pressed on 180 gram vinyl, it's packaged in a beautiful embossed jacket, and includes a digital download card and a lyric/credits booklet. The album is also available via mail order with www.maplemusic.com.
Amidst his cross-country tour as special guest of Feist, Hayden and the band (Cuff The Duke) did a live recording at the Toronto CBC studios. It's now featured on CBC Radio 3 Sessions: listen here!

The Place Where We Lived in stores now!

Today is release day for The Place Where We Lived in Canada at retail and on the web. iTunes and MapleMusic.com have had it available for pre-order and now music sellers from coast-to-coast will have it in their stores. It's a pretty special package.
Think Indie (http://digital.thinkindie.com/release/36289/) is a great way to pick up the album in the USA. They're the first American digital site to feature it.
And 180 gram vinyl is coming to retail in Canada and indie retail in the US in mid-June. Stay tuned for details.

First, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for supporting Hayden over the last year by coming to shows and listening to his music.
And secondly, to let you know that Hardwood Records is proud to announce the release of Hayden’s 6th full-length album.
The Place Where We Lived will be available in your favorite record stores and on-line on Tuesday May 26th 2009.
If you’ve been a Hayden fan for a while, your question will probably be, “That was fast…!?” It’s a good question. This is the quickest follow up record of his career. After spending most of the last year on the road, Hayden decided to enlist good friend Howie Beck to help him make a quick, inspired follow-up to In Field & Town.
Fitting in sessions between U.S headlining tours and his Canadian arena tour supporting Feist, the two musicians pieced together the new record with the help of many friends including Cuff The Duke, and Holly Throsby.
You can pick up the first single, also entitled The Place Where We Lived by pre-ordering the album from iTunes* starting May 12th plus a bonus track with the album: Hayden’s version of The National’s "Slow Show." Waste Your Days Away celebrates ten years

Waste Your Days Away launched ten years ago today on April 4, 1999 as a Hayden fan site among many others. In 2001, in response to this site's coverage of Hayden's long-awaited return from a few year hiatus following the extensive tour in support of The Closer I Get (which was actually over when this site launched), ChartAttack.com flatteringly stated: "Diehard fans, of course, have been kept in the know by the brilliantly thorough wasteyourdaysaway.com fan site."
After eight and a half years as a fan site, wasteyourdaysaway.com re-launched as Hayden's official web site in November 2007 to begin the release coverage of In Field & Town. Thanks to the hundreds of thousands of fans who have visited the site over the past decade!

European tour cancelled

Hayden's European tour is now confirmed, and features 14 dates as special guest of Giant Sand, as well as his own show at Monto Water Rats in London and an appearance at Le Guess Who? Festival in Holland. Hayden will be performing with a band, that being the members of Cuff The Duke. See Shows for complete listings.
MuchMoreMusic is now playing two Hayden videos; along with "Worthy of Your Esteem," they have just added "Barely Friends."

European tour kicks off in London in November

Hayden and band will begin a tour of Europe with two nights in London, England: Nov. 25th as special guests of Giant Sand at the Koko; followed by his own show at Monto Water Rats the following night. Further dates to be announced soon for France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.

Four new Canadian dates

Four additional dates have been added to Hayden's upcoming tour that will run from September to mid-October before Hayden re-joins Feist for a month-worth of dates. Hayden will stop in Sault Ste. Marie, ON with The Acorn on October 6, and Saskatoon, SK and Kamloops, BC on October 8 and 10 respectively.
A second Toronto show with Feist has been added, this time at Massey Hall on November 1. Two separate pre-sales are currently available for this show with general public tickets going on sale on Monday at 10:00 am EST.

New U.S. tour announced; additional Canadian dates coming soon

Fifteen American tour dates have been announced, including three dates with Juliana Hatfield. Hayden's U.S. tour starts September 10 in Philadelphia, PA and runs through to September 27. All currently available ticket details are available on the Shows page.
Hayden returns to Canada for several dates throughout October and November with and without Feist. A few additional Canadian dates will be announced shortly. Keep an eye on the website or sign-up for the mailing list for notifications sent directly to your inbox.

XM Verge Awards

The Verge Music Awards will honour Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. Voting ends on September 1, 2008 and in conjunction with an XM Jury, the winner will be announced on September 24, 2008 along with live-to-air performances.

Hayden on Arts & Minds; another Feist show

Hayden appears on next weekend's edition of Bravo! Canada's weekly arts magazine Arts & Minds. The show airs next Saturday night at 6pm EST and repeats the following Sunday night (June 22) at 7pm and Wednesday night (June 25) at 7:30pm.
Another Feist/Hayden show has been added. Feist rolls into Penticton, BC at the South Okanagan Events Centre on October 14. Hayden will be Feist's guest.

NPR performance; Easy Street in store

Hayden is rolling along on his current U.S. tour. Hayden stopped in for an interview and performance on NPR's Bryant Park Project. See the Bryant Park website for live streaming audio of the interview, podcast and a video of his performance of Worthy of Your Esteem.

Hayden plays summer festivals; fall Canadian tour with Feist

Hayden and his band have been confirmed for some Festivals in July. Mariposa, Ottawa Blues Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Dawson City, and Hillside. See the Shows page for details.
In mid-October, Hayden and his band will join Feist for a Stadium/Shed tour of Canada. The tour goes Coast to Coast including a show at The Air Canada Centre!

American release on Fat Possum and tour with Feist; plus Australian dates

In Field and Town will be released in the United States on the highly regarded Fat Possum Records on April 29, 2008. Hayden will be touring through the U.S., beginning April 10 in Detroit, MI as special guest to fellow Canadian artist Feist.
Prior to the aforementioned performances in the states, Hayden will perform a handful of dates in Australia. Shows in Melbourne and Sydney are scheduled for the beginning of April.

Hayden guests with Stuart McLean on the Vinyl Café starting this weekend. The show was recorded in front of a live studio audience earlier this month in Keswick, ON.
Catch the show on CBC Radio 2 on February 9 at 10am, CBC Radio 1 on February 10 at noon and February 12 at 11pm. American audiences should look here for additional broadcast info.

In Field & Town is scheduled for release in Australia on Spunk on February 9. Stay tuned for European and American release dates.
Thursday night's show in Sackville, NB with guest Shotgun Jimmie has sold out, as well as the second night in Vancouver, BC on February 12. A few tickets are still left for the first night in Vancouver on February 11. Jenn Grant will be Hayden's guest both nights in Vancouver.

Shows continue to sell out on the current Canadian tour including the last four nights in Peterborough, Keswick and Kitchener. Tonight's show and tomorrow night's show in London have both sold out, as well as the Calgary, AB date on February 16. Tickets are available for only five of the remaining dates on the current tour that will wrap in Toronto, ON on February 19.

In Field & Town was released in Canada both in stores and online through iTunes this week. Non-Canadians can look forward to domestic availability later this spring.
