The Place Where We Lived

Post by tyler »

I think Hayden's last album, The Place Where We Lived never quite got the credit it deserved. Songs like "Let's Break Up", which its twangy, foot-tapping rhythm, and "Never Lonely" with that soulfully austere slide guitar, put the album up there with Elk Lake and Skyscraper.

Now if only I could see some gems performed live...

Good point, Tyler. I don't know that any of the songs from The Place Where We Lived have been performed live. When he begins playing again, they'll be two new albums worth of material to add to the sets. I'm looking forward to the shows too.

If my memory is correct, 'Let's Break Up' and 'Dilapidated Heart' were played during at least one of the shows I attended back in 2008.

Definitely looking forward to hearing more TPWWL tracks live!

Yes, actually, you're right. Cuff the Duke did a great job of playing Dilapidated Heart live. Thanks for clarifying that.

Never lonely was the highlight of the album for me. Beautiful song.
